Amatsu-kominato is known as the birthplace of Nichiren. Since Edo period, many people from far off places have made a pilgrimage to Tanjo Temple and Seicho Temple and it has been popular because of its historic and scenic places.
With the growing of pleasure trip in Edo period, the Nakaya Ryokan, the predecessor to the Yado Nakaya, was founded in Tenpo period. We have a long time history of more than 160 years.
When a railroad around Boso Peninsula was inaugurated (from Taisho era through Showa era), Nakaya Ryokan was located near Awa-amatsu station. Ujo Noguchi, famous children’s poet seemed to visit Nakaya Ryokan often.
In 1974 we reopened as ‘’Hotel New Nakaya’’ at present location, Shirosaki Beach. Since then we have received strong patronage from our guests.
